Duties and Responsibilities
The full time Clinical Site Lead is responsible for the daily operations of the clinical team in their assigned site location. The Clinical Site Lead performs routine clinical tasks, assists the physician with all aspects of patient care, and manages administrative responsibilities, with the utmost professionalism and positive attitude. These duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare exam rooms for examination of patients, keeping patient areas clean and well stocked.
- Performs initial assessment of patients, measure vital signs (e.g. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure respirations, weight and height) and records information in patient’s chart.
- Prepare for and assist providers during examinations and procedures.
- Update providers frequently on patient status and activity so those awaiting procedures are processed efficiently.
- Update all staff on the status of patient flow so the need for additional personnel can be assessed quickly and appropriate scheduling maintained to reduce patients wait times.
- Maintain and organize all instruments, drugs, equipment and supplies.
- Prepare dressings, administer medications, perform treatments and lab procedures as directed by the provider.
- Prepare and administer vaccines, medications and nebulizer treatments as directed by the provider.
- Perform calibrations and other quality control tests on laboratory equipment.
- Ensure all lab tests are performed and results are charted according to protocol and performing all lab opening/closing duties.
- Handle all emergency situations in collaboration with the providers.
- Distribute appropriate patient information sheets, lab forms, school forms, medication forms and x-ray slips to patients as requested by their providers.
- Promote a safe working environment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and MOSH
- Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude under all circumstances.
- Attend all department meetings and daily huddles as well as special project trainings.
- Interpret and support mission statement.
Administrative responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Train new employees and enforce clinical policies and procedures.
- Manage work flow to balance staffing with patient volume.
- Coordinate patient flow to maximize efficiency, in collaboration with the front office staff.
- Ensure that all patients are seen in a timely manner and no patients are overlooked.
- Use critical thinking skills to solve complex problems that may arise during the workday.
- Utilize creative problem-solving skills and contact Director of Clinical Services when necessary.
- Work closely with Director of Clinical Services to manage daily operations including making assignments and balancing staffing.
- Send and receive weekly updates to the Director of Clinical Services.
- Assist with lab opening, closing and maintenance.
- Communicate with parents when they have a concern related to a clinical task such as appointment time, forms, etc.
Experience and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with current licensure with the State Board of Nursing in Maryland.
- Must have graduated from an Associate Nursing Degree program or higher.
- CPR certification required.
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience (preferred)
- Excellent communication (written/oral) and interpersonal skills.
- Display a positive and resourceful attitude, enthusiastic, confident, and respectful.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to pay attention to detail, set priorities, and multi-task in a fast pace environment.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and use of an electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Proficient in computer systems and navigation with MS Office software including Microsoft teams.
- Must be a team player, health advocate, and role model.
- Must be available to work/train in all locations with rotating work schedule. Evening and weekend hours may be required.
